Mission Mars Phuket

We helped BCIS Phuket and Starlight Education to organize Mission Mars: Phuket, at the BCIS Campus in Chalong, Phuket. The 5 day space camp gave participants the unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from former NASA Astronaut Charles "Sam" Gemar and analogue astronaut Ms. Lucie Rackova. Participants got to learn about the challenges of going to Mars, landing on Mars and establishing a human colony on Mars.

Students also got to enjoy the BCIS Planetarium feature shows by Fulldome Pro. The 14m fixed dome BCIS Planetarium was constructed by Fulldome Pro and provides an immersive 360 degree 4K resolution experience. We got to present alongside former Astronaut, Sam, showing the attendees the beautiful night sky, identifying basic constellations and learning about our insignificance in the universe, as well as humanity's unique existence and resilience in a very hostile galactic environment.

(Did you know that learning to identify the stars is a central part of training to become and astronaut? According to Sam, astronauts need to know the stars for navigation, just like the first sailors that sailed the oceans on earth!)
