SEAPEO 2024: Astronomy at an International School in Phuket

We went to attend the Southeast Asia Planetarium, Education and Outreach Conference (SEAPEO) 2024 in Chiangmai, Thailand. It was an eye-opening and fun experience to learn about the various astronomy teaching, outreach and research efforts happening around Southeast Asia.

We also presented on our work at BCIS Phuket, where we led astronomy learning efforts and managed the planetarium, including the planetarium system. We also organized space camps with astronauts to inspire the students, a proud achievement, but far more importantly, the opportunity to open students' minds and present the opportunity to interact with someone who went to space we hope, will be etched in the students' memories for the rest of their lives, sparking an interest in them to pursue STEM subjects, imagine about the universe or simply just appreciate the amazing existence we have in the universe!
